Pakbet Tagalog

Pakbet Tagalog is a tasty vegetable dish made-up of different fresh vegetables, pork, and shrimp paste. This dish is a variation of the popular dish, Pakbet Ilokano, that originated from the Ilocos Region. This recipe is comprised of different vegetables such as eggplant (talong), squash (kalabasa), sting beans (sitaw), ampalaya (bitter melon), okra, and others.


Sizzling Sisig

Sizzling Sisig is a popular appetizer (pulutan) turned main dish that originated from the culinary capital of the Philippines : Pampanga. This dish was invented by Lucia Cunanan or popularly know as Aling Lucing (she is also known as the sisig queen). Originally, sisig is composed of chopped pigs face (snout included) and ears with a generous amounts of chicken liver. 

Bopis

Bopis is a spicy Filipino dish made from minced pig’s lungs and heart. This can be served as an appetizer for beer and alcoholic beverages; it is also considered as a main dish and is best served with steamed white rice.

Tokwa't Baboy

Tokwa’t Baboy is a dish composed of boiled pork (either or both pig’s ears and pork belly usually) and fried tofu. The sauce made of vinegar and soy sauce gives life to this dish. Generally, this is considered as an appetizer and a side dish. Most people like to have their Tokwa’t Baboy with beer or wine by the side while others love to have it with rice porridge such as Arroz Caldo, Goto, or a simple lugaw.

Pancit Canton

Pancit Canton is a noodle dish that is of Chinese origin. This is prepared pretty much like the Pancit Guisado (Pansit Bihon) though an obvious distinction would be the noodles used (rice sticks vs. flour sticks).
